Our Celtic knot pewter tankard is one of our favorites. It’s stunning! The highly reflective bowl of near-white (lead-free) pewter is encircled with a pair of elegant pewter bands each decorated with a loose Celtic knot. And the ‘swan-neck’ handle is both one of our more attractive and most comfortable, harking back to the ancient Celtic fascination with the water and water-life.
What is the meaning of this particular Celtic knot? Although in modern times people look for and ascribe meaning to the different Celtic knots, most experts reckon that originally ‘most’ started out as little more than highly decorative and intricate doodling in the manuscripts of dark-age monks in Ireland, Wales, Scotland, and northern England. We’re going to take that as licence to give this knot our own meaning – ‘superior’, because that’s how this tankard feels. From the quality of the workmanship, to the strength and solidity that comes from the eleven-plus ounces of metal that goes into each mug, this is an awesome mug.
Whether you are looking for a single tankard as an unforgettable gift for someone very special, or a set to kit-out an unbelievably awesome wet-bar, we cannot recommend our Celtic knot tankard enough.
