Why "Crafted Cup"?
Just imagine for a moment what goes into producing a good craft beer. The best natural ingredients, chosen and processed over weeks or months by a master brewer. It’s a mix of art, science, and tradition, using processes perfected over nearly six thousand years.
Here at Crafted Cup we believe that a fine craft beer deserves to be enjoyed with the fullest respect…and drinking from any old glass that you have to hand just doesn’t cut it.
So what is the Crafted Cup Company?
The Crafted Cup Company is a small business owned by the Rowlands family. We started selling our unique handcrafted tankards and beer mugs because we like them, and found it hard to buy them in the USA. In our own small way we intend to help fix that by bringing you the very best drinkware at great prices.
All of our cups are made by only the most talented artists and artisans, many with decades of experience behind them. Because they are handmade using only traditional techniques, every beer mug or tankard we sell is unique and is carefully chosen to elevate your enjoyment of your beer. We think they look pretty good too.
The workshop where most of our cups are made is in Yorkshire, England, where Master Pewterers have been perfecting their trade since the Middle Ages (our cups mostly ship either direct from our workshop or from our small warehouse in Michigan, USA). We think this heritage is important and are proud to be a (small) part of it. But while we love the tradition, we are also adamant that we want to bring something new to our customers. We do this in two ways:
1. A firm commitment to giving every customer the personal service that they can only get from a small family business like ours; and
2. The use of new technologies such as Virtual Reality so that you can, if you wish, design your own tankard and know in advance exactly what your engraving is going to look like.
Who are the Rowlands family?
The Crafted Cup Company is owned by Gareth and Em Rowlands. Gareth is British, and met Em (a native of Pennsylvania) while living in Philadelphia, 2001-2004. We now live in England with our four children, one dog, and five chickens. And a lot of fine cups.
The Crafted Cup Company is fully registered with the British and US tax authorities including the Michigan Dept. of Treasury.
